I've always known that standing straight is good for you. It is good for your posture, better for your back and of course, helps boost your confidence.

A recent study by Amy C.J. Cuddy, a social psychologist at the HarvardBusinessSchool, indicates that, holding a pose that opens up a person's body and takes up space (in other words standing straight) will alter the hormone levels and make the person feel more powerful and willing to take risks. The opposite also proved true: constrictive postures lower a person's sense of power.

Those of you who know me, know, that I am the visual type. So, when I read this study, I instantly pictured a woman with her arms thrown up in the air (like she’d just won a race and was exuding confidence and the power of success). And, because bras are my business, it wasn't a far stretch for my mind to then quickly imagine - what if this happened and her bra didn't fit right and her girls were falling out underneath as her arms were thrust in the air?

What I’m getting at, is the link between good posture, self-confidence and a good fitting bra. I’ve always maintained that one of the benefits of the right bra is that it improves your posture and self-confidence. So, imagine the power a woman projects when she has exquisite posture and is also wearing a bra which fits and supports her perfectly!

While we’re on the topic of self-confidence and lingerie – the bottom line (no pun intended) is this. It is always better to wear a proper fitting, supportive bra along with a fresh pair of underwear, because when you look good on the inside, you’ll look good on the outside. And, like my Mom used to say, “just in case you have an accident and need to see a doctor.”
